Update your information with OHA

Redetermination is when the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) reviews your information to  figure out if you still qualify for the Oregon Health Plan (OHP).

OHA used to check if you qualify every year, but paused when the public health emergency was declared for COVID in March 2020. The redetermination process will start again April 1 and will continue for 14 months. After that, OHA will check to see if you still qualify for Medicaid every two years. Kids 0-5 only need to apply for Medicaid once and can stay on Medicaid until their 6th birthday.

You will receive a notice in the mail from OHA between April 1, 2023, and January 4, 2024. The state is reaching out to members in groups, so it may take some time before you are contacted.

Here are three things you can do to make the process smoother:

  1. Update your address with OHA by logging into your ONE account or calling 800-699-9075.

  2. Respond to any mailed requests from OHA. Make sure you complete any steps outlined in the notice as soon as possible. You will have 90 days to respond.

  3. Reach out to local assisters for help with the paperwork.

If OHA determines you no longer qualify for benefits, you will have 60 days before your OHP coverage ends. During that time, OHA can help you figure out your other options.
